About Susan and WiseWell

At the heart of my work is a simple belief: we are designed to thrive.

For much of my life, I have been drawn to the places where movement, curiosity, joy, and meaningful experiences intersect. Through entrepreneurship, motherhood, yoga, fitness, travel, neuroscience-informed practices, and a lifelong fascination with human potential, I have explored the remarkable relationship between the mind, body, and spirit. Again and again, I have discovered that small shifts in awareness can profoundly change the way we experience our lives.

Over the years, I’ve come to see self-love differently—not as a soft or abstract idea, but as one of life’s most practical foundations. It shapes how we care for ourselves, navigate change, build relationships, and move through the world. When we learn to become true partners with ourselves, we cultivate greater clarity, vitality, resilience, courage, and peace.

My work is rooted in a simple philosophy: living well is both an art and a science—and it is richer when explored together.

How the

Work

Comes Alive

I create experiences that help people reconnect with their natural capacity to thrive.

Through keynote presentations, immersive workshops, digital programs, retreats, and community conversations, I create spaces where people can reflect, reconnect, and return to themselves. Every experience is designed as a collaboration, not a lecture. I believe transformation does not have to feel heavy. It can arrive through insight, movement, laughter, rest, beauty, conversation, and the rare feeling of being welcomed exactly as you are.

My intention is to offer tools and experiences that feel both meaningful and usable – practices that help people inhabit themselves more fully, soften what no longer serves them, and bring more joy, awareness, and aliveness into daily life.

This is the work that gave rise to WiseWell.

WiseWell: Where the Philosophy Becomes Practice

WiseWell is the living expression of my work – a community and experience ecosystem designed to bring this philosophy into practice.

Through WiseWell, the ideas at the heart of my teaching become shared experiences: community calls, immersive retreats, workshops, digital programs, and beautifully curated adventures. It is a space for people who are curious about living more consciously, joyfully, and fully – not through perfection, but through presence.

WiseWell is not a one-size-fits-all approach to wellness. It is a collection of pathways into deeper living. Some people enter through a conversation. Others through a retreat, a workshop, a digital program, or a moment of personal reflection. Wherever someone begins, the invitation is the same: to return to the body, to joy, to self-trust, and to the parts of ourselves that can grow quiet beneath responsibility, routine, and the many roles we play.

At WiseWell, we believe meaningful transformation can feel beautiful. It can be playful and profound. It can be intimate, practical, luxurious, and deeply human.

the

Friendship

That Helped Shape WiseWell

Long before WiseWell had a name, it existed as a sensibility – shaped by a lifelong friendship, a shared curiosity about the world, and a belief in the kind of moments that stay with us long after we return home.

Kelly Caldwell and I met as teenagers, and for more than 40 years we have had front-row seats to one another’s lives. We have celebrated victories, navigated challenges, reinvented ourselves more than once, and continued asking some version of the same questions:

How do we live more fully? More intentionally? More joyfully?

Our lives unfolded in very different ways, but they often led us back to the same essential truths:

WiseWell came into focus as we imagined a space where deeper conversations about life could unfold – and where travel could become more than sightseeing. A space where people could experience awe and ease, laughter and reflection, beauty and belonging.

That vision became WiseWell.

Spark and Grace

WiseWell is shaped by the complementary sensibilities that Kelly and I bring to the work.

I bring the spark: movement, joy, play, embodied self-love, teaching, and a science-informed understanding of how people come back to aliveness.

Kelly brings the grace: cultural depth, aesthetic discernment, emotional steadiness, operational precision, and a gift for creating experiences that feel effortless, thoughtful, and beautifully held.

Together, we create experiences that are both playful and profound – spaces where people can soften, breathe, laugh, connect, and return home with more of themselves.

WiseWell Adventures are one expression of this philosophy.

These are not traditional wellness retreats set apart from the world. They are immersive journeys that weave together thoughtful practices, gracious accommodations, exceptional food, cultural encounters, meaningful conversation, and unforgettable high-touch moments. We design them around the feeling we want guests to carry: wonder, ease, connection, vitality, and the quiet shift that can happen within.

Our adventures are created for people who want travel to be beautiful, yes – but also resonant. People who want to experience a place with depth, joy, and intention. People who want to come home not only with memories, but with more of themselves.

Come for the beauty. Return with more of yourself.

As a child, I felt most at home in motion – on skis, on a horse, in the ocean, anywhere surrounded by nature. Growing up in Colorado as the youngest of six, life moved fast, and it taught me to embrace challenge, curiosity, resilience, and joy.

Movement has always been one of my greatest teachers. It carried me around the world teaching skiing in New Zealand, Argentina, and France. It shaped my love of  polo, surfing, heliskiing, yoga, fitness, and the exhilaration of being in wild places. It has also shaped the way I understand transformation: not as something we think our way into, but something we practice, feel, embody, and live.

My journey has taken me through international business, entrepreneurship, motherhood, teaching, and decades of exploring the fascinating relationship between the mind, body, and spirit. Along the way, I became a certified yoga instructor and 10X Fitness trainer, continually drawn to the practical science behind what helps people become healthier, happier, more resilient, and more fully alive.

What I’ve discovered is beautifully simple: the quality of our lives changes when the quality of our relationship with ourselves changes. When we meet ourselves with greater compassion, curiosity, and trust, we create more space for vitality, connection, courage, and joy.

Today, I still think of myself as an explorer—of the world, of human potential, and of what helps us thrive. I share what I’ve learned through speaking, workshops, digital programs, WiseWell Adventures, and our WiseWell Community, creating experiences that invite people to reconnect with themselves and with what makes life feel rich, meaningful, and fully lived.

I still believe self-love is one of the most practical things we can cultivate—not because it’s the destination, but because it’s the foundation. From there, everything else becomes possible: deeper relationships, greater resilience, more joy, and the freedom to live with curiosity, confidence, and an open heart.

I have always been drawn to beauty, meaning, and the way travel expands our understanding of the world and ourselves.

My love of travel began through literature, history, art, and architecture – passions that quietly accompanied me through a 25-year career in banking and a life lived across Boston, Tokyo, London, and New York. That professional path opened the world to me and deepened my understanding of what gives an experience lasting meaning: the moments that awaken awe, invite connection, humble us, inspire us, and return us more fully to our humanity.

I have come to see travel as one of life’s great educations. It allows us to encounter beauty, difference, wonder, and perspective in ways that remind us of our interconnectedness and our place within something larger than ourselves.

Today, I bring cultural fluency, aesthetic discernment, operational precision, and emotional intelligence to WiseWell. Alongside my work with an education-focused nonprofit in Mexico, I help shape each itinerary with calm, elegance, insight, and thoughtfulness – attending to where guests stay, how a day moves, who they meet, and the unexpected details that give a journey its soul.

For me, WiseWell is a way to bring together many of the things I value most: friendship, beauty, travel, learning, meaningful conversation, and experiences that leave people feeling more alive, more connected, and more at home in themselves.

Everything we create through WiseWell is rooted in one shared belief:

We are designed to thrive.

The journey is deeply personal, and beautifully enriched through shared experiences.

Whether you discover WiseWell through a keynote, a workshop, our community, a digital program, or a WiseWell Adventure, the invitation is always the same:

To live with more presence.
To move with more freedom.
To experience more joy.
To return with more of yourself.

To remember how good it feels to be fully alive.
